WBSN National Women’s Snooker Academy Open Day
The WBSN National Women’s Snooker Academy Open Day marked a significant and successful step forward for women’s cuesports in Australia.

Held at Clayton Sports Club, the day welcomed a strong turnout of women and girls, all keen to learn more about the Academy and what it offers. From the outset, there was a genuine sense of excitement and curiosity, with attendees engaging in conversations, asking questions, and getting hands-on experience at the tables.

The structure of the day allowed participants to gain a clear understanding of the Academy’s vision—providing a supportive, inclusive, and professionally guided pathway into snooker. Whether attending with prior experience or stepping up to a full-size table for the first time, everyone was made to feel welcome and encouraged.
What quickly became clear was the level of demand. The interest shown throughout the day reinforced the need for dedicated opportunities for women and girls to develop their skills in a structured environment, surrounded by like-minded participants.
In response to this strong demand, the Academy has expanded beyond its original schedule. Alongside the existing Wednesday and Saturday sessions, Sunday sessions have now been introduced to provide greater flexibility and accommodate busy lifestyles.

The success of the Open Day is also a reflection of the people behind it. The WBSN team, supported by a network of experienced players, coaches, and volunteers, delivered a day that not only informed but inspired. It highlighted what is possible when there is a clear vision and a commitment to growing the game in a meaningful way.
With places filling quickly, only a limited number of spots now remain—specifically for Wednesday evenings at Boronia RSL and Sunday mornings at Clayton Sports Club. For those who have been considering joining, now is the time to secure a place in the inaugural Academy season.
We thank everyone who attended and supported the day. Your enthusiasm is what drives initiatives like this forward.
This is just the beginning.
